Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani to start in Game 3 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium on Monday night with partially dislocated shoulder, says manager Dave Roberts NEW YORK -- Concerns seemed to vanish and Los Angeles Dodgers players wore smiles at Yankee Stadium as they prepared for Game 3 of the World Series: Shohei Ohtani was scheduled to play Monday night even if he has a partially dislocated left shoulder. Ohtani was injured while trying to steal second base when he was tagged out to end the seventh inning in a 4-2 win over the New York Yankees in Game 2 in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Even fans and teammates were beginning to wonder if Sho could go this week. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that having Ohtani at the top of the lineup was nearly a lock. “I just don’t see him not playing Game 3,” Roberts said before Sunday night’s workout. “If he feels good enough to go, then I see no reason why he wouldn’t be in there.” Ohtani did not join the team to New York so that h...

LONDON — The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced on Thursday that it is initiating an investigation into Google’s business relationship with AI firm Anthropic. The CMA stated it has gathered "sufficient information" to warrant an initial investigation, following a request for feedback earlier this year regarding potential competitive harms related to the deal.  The authority has until December 19 to either approve the deal or escalate the matter to a phase two investigation. “Google is committed to fostering the most open and innovative AI environment worldwide,” the company emphasized. “Anthropic has the freedom to use multiple cloud providers, and we do not require exclusive tech rights.” Founded in 2021 in San Francisco by former OpenAI employees Dario and Daniela Amodei, Anthropic has focused significantly on ensuring the safety and reliability of its AI models.  Reports suggest that Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, committed to investing in An...

Ahead of the product’s October 28 launch, Hailey spoke to BBCNews.com about what inspired her to create the moisturizing balm.  “If you were to ever look back on skin care or ‘get ready with me’ videos I’ve done, I’ve talked a lot about sealing things in underneath my makeup with a balm, or swapping out my moisturizer for a richer, thicker, balmier moisturizer.  This is my version of that,” she said. Rhode’s Barrier Butter was in development for two year...

Why Harris Transitioned from ‘Joy’ to Labeling Trump as a ‘Fascist’

Image
Vice President Kamala Harris's recent shift from promoting "joy" to labeling former President Donald Trump a "fascist" represents a significant change in her political messaging.  This evolution reflects the growing urgency surrounding American democracy and the heightened stakes of the upcoming USA election 2024 .  With the country facing increased polarization and a climate of escalating authoritarian rhetoric, Harris has embraced a more confrontational approach, aiming to draw attention to what she sees as real threats to democratic institutions. From Joyful Positivity to Urgent Warnings When Harris first entered the national stage, her campaign focused on a message of unity and positivity, appealing to voters with a hopeful tone amidst a backdrop of political division.  By highlighting joy and resilience, she sought to inspire optimism and present a sharp contrast to the contentious rhetoric that had come to dominate American politics. Her goal was to unify ...

Ex-Abercrombie CEO Said by Prosecutors to Have Used Position and Money to Enslave Young Men

Image
According to Mr. Peace, once Mr. Jeffries gave his approval, men were flown to his New York home, where they were reportedly coerced into consuming alcohol, Viagra, and muscle relaxants.  Prosecutors also alleged that Jeffries and Smith, or others under their direction, administered drugs to men, making them incapable or unwilling to perform sexually. The ex-CEO reportedly invested millions of dollars into maintaining a massive infrastructure to support and conceal this operation, which involved international travel, hotels, staff, and security.  Prosecutors stated that 15 victims were named in the indictment, but the overall operation involved "dozens and dozens of men." Following a court appearance on Tuesday, Jeffries was released on a $10 million bond, while Jacobson was released on a $500,000 bond. Smith, however, was ordered to remain detained. The next court hearing is scheduled for Friday. Mr. Peace, the federal prosecutor, revealed that the authorities were tipped of...

The Dating Game Killer: The Real Life Story of the Woman of the Hour

Image
The Dating Game Killer was recently revived again when Anna Kendrick, who directed and acted in Woman of the Hour, uploaded the show on Netflix. The thriller is based on a real and very cruel story: a girl named Sheryl Bradshaw meets a psycho on the set of a dating show. Read on to find out all that happened. Of course, this means spoilers for the movie. Who is the Dating Game Killer? Rodney Alcala was a typesetter at the LA Times who was on a murder “spree” across New York, California, and Wyoming in the months leading up to his brush with reality television. One of the prosecutors in the case said he was not an abused kid or a social pariah, but a sadist with an IQ of 135. When he went to The Dating Game show in 1978, he had been discharged from jail two times for sexually abusing girls who were below 13 years, but the producers never researched the background of their contestants. Who Did He Kill? Most of the victims of Alcala were young women whom he would take to a dangerous area...
